New on this , here goes .
I have a 2014 rav4 Awd 2.0l d4d manual , the abs module had to be replaced. The replacement one came from a 2015 automatic 2.2l d4d but all 3 part numbers matched up .
When replacement module fitted it shows lost comms on diagnostic tool but it has been programmed outside of vehicle with a copy of old programming on it . When old module fitted no problem with comms only fault with rear left sensor . There was burn marks on pcb resistor blown / shorted.
Really my question is does the vehicles main ecu have to see replacement abs module for the comms fault to clear .
I have a auto electrical look at wiring found a fault and has repaired it .
Any replys appreciated .
