Ask dealer about the sd card. The sd card with maps must come with the vehicle. Ask a discount. You can buy a new card with updated maps from dealer for about $150(?).
P.S. Toyota NAV is useless. Even on 2018 RAV4. Use your phone with google maps instead.

Thanks guys, I bought a SD card and now it has navigation. It interface is a bit clunky, but I hope it will become more intuitive and easier once we use it more

 

I just bought a 2018 RAV 4 (traded my Prius with 167K miles) and tried the Scout GPS app. Not great but it is usable with an Android phone. I needed to start the app on the phone before the display would function.

Really wished it could work with Google Maps but...

I'll comment on more initial getting use to the car later.
