The car wash I use has high pressure nozzles that go over the roof. On occasion, I'll feel a spritz of water coming into the cabin when this happens. My Toyota dealer says this is to be expected sometimes, Has that been your experience?

Any car window that is designed to slide open will not have a 100% waterproof seal. The design expects that at some point there will be some leakage of water. The windows on the door will allow water to leak into the door, and there are seep holes at the bottom of the door for the water to escape. The window on the roof has a catch tray under to catch any seeping water, and route it out of the car through drain tubes. The high pressure jets are spraying a bit of water through the seals, and because of the pressureit can continue to spray a bit and miss the catch tray.

Our sunroof doesn't leak after 12 years when going through a carwash. Suggest making certain that it is complete shut and if it is used, occasionally cleaning the gasket seal and sunroof edges where they contact it..

I never took my 2020 with the standard moon roof through a car wash, only ever hand washed it, however during heavy rain I could run my finger along the catch tray for the moonroof and detect moisture.

No moon roof is watertight, that's why they have draining systems, however feeling a spritz is kinda weird, unless it is super high pressure at the right angle.

Your moonroof may need to be adjusted a bit, it's possible it is out of alignment. Do you hear any whistling at highway speeds?

A friend who had an older model Nissan and puddle on rear passenger floor. Mechanic quoted $300. Came from clogged drain line in sunroof. Major water on floor. Also, she lives in a city with many trees are so many debris and accumulates over the years. Don't know how these drains work or how it backs up to floor but one drain outlet is directly under floor.

Here is a thread with discussion on cleaning the drain lines.

No staining or leaking from anywhere in car but floor, however thanks for the feedback since I have two Rav4 with sunroofs. They will likely leak someday.

just make sure the seals are free of dust as well as the window part.
over time it can trash a seal or make scratches in windows.
even side windows on the cars and trucks can leak under the high pressure wash or rinse on a good no touch wash.

just make sure it is not the seal to the body as a leak!
those in time can be a BIG problem.

take a towel with you or a shamwow! lol.
