I have a 2022 XSE PP with the 19" wheels, coming up on 30K miles, and the OEM Yokohama tires are done. It seems like most of the tire discussions are between owners in snowier/colder locales and they all point toward Michelin CC2. Well I'm in San Diego where it's sunny and (usually) dry, and never snowy or icy. We occasionally drive to the mountains but not often enough to choose our tires for it.

I would appreciate any tire wisdom from other owners with similar needs who have been happy with an all-season tire choice.

My priorities:

1. Smooth quiet ride
2. Retain good fuel/charge economy
3. Dry grip
4. Available at Costco is a major plus!
5. Long life tread
6. Wet grip
7. Winter (snow/ice) performance

Thanks for any recommendations or advice!

Continental crosscontact Lx-25, and I’m in north Florida, with similar tire objectives to you. The tires are NOT available at Costco, at least here, but otherwise easily found. I bought mine at Discount Tire. Have about 800 miles on them, and recommend them highly. Extremely comfortable ride, great handling and grip, no drop in mpg when I installed them.

I missed the #7 snow performance. Guess I was focusing on San Diego.

The Pirelli Scorpion Weather active checks all seven requirements. It bests the CC2 in most of those. Only the Defender would have longer life.

If you buy tires from Tire Rack, and have them mounted at Discount Tire, Tire Rack throws in a free road hazard warranty. All others you have to pay for road hazard. Thus the total price from Tire Rack is less than the others, including Costco.

Go to the Tire Rack web site where you can compare the ratings on the tires you are interested in. When I was shopping this is what they showed.\:

I put Michelin Defender 2s on our new Limited hybrid last summer & I believe they tick all 7 of your boxes, with the possible exception of being available @ Costco. We're not members, so I can't tell you if they stock them. We bought ours from Discount Tire where they traded us out of the new OE Dunlops. With just over 7,000 miles on them now, they've been great tires.

Continental CrossContact LX25 is what I put on mine after OEM worn out. LX25 have been also great on my 2011 Highlander Hybrid.

I went with the CC Lx25 for the R4P because they did so well on the '11 HH. They could have gone the 70k mile warranty amount, but given our family situation and catching a nail, we swapped all 4 at 65K miles.

We are a Ventura/Santa Barbara County highway driver.

Focus on first 6. Maybe the defenders is good. I'm only 3k into my stock tires on my 2024 but will switch up to Defenders when it's time.

I found someone selling black powder coated rims from their 2023 and I bought them and put winter tires for my Tahoe snow runs ~250-300 miles away. He also included (4) TPMS.

I bought (4) Blizzak DMVs from America's Tire (California) (Discount Tire in other states) and they installed the TPMs. I change the tires myself when going to/from snow. You don't want to leave them on all winter in California unless you live in Tahoe.

My only regret is putting the powder black coated rims for my winter tires setup. They are bad ass looking.
