I think people who really need a specific seat comfort need to tell a dealer they need to sit in the car for several hours before paying for it. That's just because everyone will be different about the seats. It's like style- mostly it's a matter of opinion. I'm still okay with sitting in "not perfect" seats, hell the ones I work with are SO MUCH WORSE than any modern car I guess that's why I'm not complaining about the finer things of the seats.

On a side note, my old 2008 Sienna LE had AMAZINGLY comfortable seats. Honestly, minivans are the way to go for seat comfort :)

I love my seats, except for the head rest/restraint. Hospice nurse spending most of every workday in my car. I also have a huge head and previous torsion injury to my cervical spine. The inability to stretch my neck backward exacerbates my nerve impingement. But I am working on a solution. Starting with testing out bolsters for upper back. Next, finding a compatible used headrest and bending the posts until it fits right for me while still providing reasonable safety benefits.

From test driving multiple makes and models, this vehicle was still the best match all-around in my price range. Mass-produced vehicles are not made for disabled individuals; any car I buy has to be altered after purchase to make it fit me.

Agreed XLE fabric seats aren't good. Limited faux leather seats very comfy though and actually better then real leather ones in my Escape.

I have found it to be so so in my XSE, but i think with enough fiddling around i could possibly get it so it is comfortable. My previous ride had real leather and was very comfortable but being black leather they sure would be sticky in summer, lol

I have the 2020 GXL (Australia) it’s the next one up from the base model, fabric seats. I’ve driven a three day trip in this car. And while I still had some niggles in the lower back, I found the seats to be comfort overall. Definitely better than the Isuzu MUX for long trips.
I think all cars should have lumbar support

I keep renting the 2021 XLE and LE models and yeah, I don't find the seats comfortable after about 2 hours. I love the ones in Hyundai Kona, Sonata and Ford Fusion (for comparison).
Then why do you keep renting the RAV4 instead of the Hyundai Kona, Sonata and Ford Fusion?

I just drove my 2020 RAV4 Limited Hybrid 6,200 miles over a 20 day period, no complaints from me or the other two adults in the car. This car has the most comfortable seats that I’ve ever had for long distance driving.
The complaint is that lower trims don't have comfortable seats. It doesn't affect the ones with faux leather

All comes down to personal preference and how your body fits. I have a limited and anything over 2 hours in the drivers seat isn't great I can tolerate it. The passenger seat with limited adjustments is the real issue. Shame on me, I haven't learned my lesson that I have yet to find a toyota seat that I like. Hoping the new NX is better with more adjustments and may trade up.

I’ve owned a 2021 Limited since February and my experience is the same. It’s weird for me because never in my life have I even cared about seats. I am dealing with some hip and glute pain that the seats certainly didn’t cause but they seem to exacerbate it.

I have a 2021 XLE and have driven from PA to WV, Atlanta,GA and then to Destin,FL and back. I was NOT uncomfortable at all---I'm 6' and 225 lbs. Actually with all the auto stuff (wipers, headlights, cruise control, etc) the ride was quite enjoyable. My wife (5'2") in the passenger seat said she was very comfortable and 5'6" daughter in the back said she was fine when I asked her during the trip.

I do have to say, that I am getting a bit irritated with the angle of the headrest. It seems like my neck muscles are always tensed up while driving due to the angle of the headrest. It's angled forward too far pushing my head forward. I have to angle the seat back way too far to no longer be in contact with my head. Then I'm not in a comfortable position and I'm looking at the B pillar if I turn my head to the left. Not sure what Toyota was thinking.

we've had our Rav4 XLE cloth seats for about a year now.

They are just very average with comfort. Meh. Not great. The passenger seat is super annoying because it is raised higher than normal and isn't adjustable. Lots of people mentioned this.

front headrests really suck too.

People are saying Venza seats are much, much more comfortable.

In the video, they mention that the uncomfortableness is being reported by the 6'6" and 6'4" drivers.

I'm a heavier 6'4" dude in an XSE, and I've driven it for a 4-hr trip so far. No complaints on the seat, although I find myself wanting to duck my head because my hair brushes against the lowered ceiling (due to the moon roof). I was surprised that the powered seat doesn't lower more than it can.
I'm 6'3" 232 And have had 7 toyotas. The 2018 Rav4 I had and this 2021 are too short and too firm to be comfortable. After an hour's drive I want out of the car which is a shame. My friend's Lexus RX350 is comfortable for hours on end.

I found my driver seat in the XSE is fine, however the passenger seat is not power so adjustments are pretty slim especially if your 6' or taller. Honda did the same in my accord actually feels like they put in less cushioning in tIhe passenger seat. If they had a power option for the passenger seat on my Rav I would have paid for it. No complaints for me and I've done some major road trips without issues. I'm 5'10" 190 lbs if that matters.
