US vs. Japan made parts interchangeable?

As the title states, can I use parts available in the US to buy and then ship to me in the Philippines? Just making sure that there would be no compatibility issues since I want to replace most of the stock parts with some decent aftermarket parts that are widely available in the US than here locally. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(Parts that I am referring to are brake rotors, calipers, etc...)

Remember too that a ceramic pad material is built for low dust at the expense of braking performance. If you choose a pad with more metallic compound, you’ll have a LOT more bite. That’s a trade-off you need to choose yourself [emoji846]. If you’re in metro Manila or you have the typical urban traffic, ceramic might be fine with the larger brakes, since you’ll rarely get up to enough speed!

Brake parts should be no problem, but you need to know what your RAV is equipped with first. - there may be some other related components which rule out a parts swap, although this isn’t likely. For brakes however, a simple upgrade using OEM or normal replacement parts is to use the 296mm from rotors and related pads and calipers, IF your RAV has the 275mm rotors right now. It’s easy, parts are readily available in most cases, and makes a HUGE difference. If you’ve already got the 296mm fronts, then yes you need to go aftermarket/tuner [emoji846]

Hmm - you can’t necessarily be 100% certain unless you’ve measured them, or you have the LE model. For 4.4 units sold in North America it was pretty easy - LE got the 275, everything else got the 296 (IMO the 275 should never have been used on a RAV4 of this size, they may have been ok on the 4.2s, but not this big). I strongly suggest measuring them to be certain before you order parts.

Remember too that the rear brakes are likely all the same on each and every 4.4 - at least this was the case for models sold new in North America. If the kit is set for the 296 (also used on the V6 4.3 models) then you’ve got everything but the calipers. I suggest bleeding out all the fluid as well, to be certain you’re starting with a fully functional and updated system.
