hi,

I have a 2021 Rav4 Prime SE, and unfortunately my windshield have a big crack but good thing my insurance will cover the OEM glass replacement.
Safelite will replace it for me and they said that the OEM windshield part number is FW05140 GTY.

I just want to double check with anybody here with a similar experience and if this part number is correct.
I am not sure if windshield is the same for any other Rav4 or if Prime has a different windshield so I want to confirm the windshield part number

thanks

I would have to call BS on that part number. I did a quick Google search and I got a hit for a generic curved glass company:

Here is a good place to get an actual Toyota part number:

Here is the filter for you Prime:

Our last (and last) safelite repair took 3 trips for them to get it kind of right. They totally screwed up the job. I still don’t know how they managed to scuff the leather in the interior. Getting the right part number is the first red flag.

Do your diligence on your safelite branch before you trust them with your car. They got to be the biggest glass replacement shop with attractive pricing to the insurers.

Here are the part numbers for my winshield replacement on my 2021 R4P XSE with the Weather Package. I would think they would be the same for the SE with the Weather Package.

OEM (original equipment manufacturer) means the parts is coming from the manufacturer that supplies toyota however it will not have any Toyota branding on it. OE (original equipment) means the part is a genuine Toyota part and it will have a Toyota part number on it.
I had the windshield on my SE replaced with an OEM part which happened to be manufactured by a large Chinese glass manufacturer that supplies Toyota. It was pn FW05133GTYN and it is exactly the same quality as was the original glass.

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for the replies, it was very helpful. I contacted Safelite and they insisted that their part# is OEM (vs OE as explained in one of the comments above). However, there is no way for me to confirm that and will just have to take their word for it. Good thing it was very easy to cancel appointment for Safelite online.

I found another Auto glass company (Caliber Auto Glass) recommended by the dealership and they use the actual Toyota part# (56101-42945 for my SE that doesnt have weather package) so I will go with them. The only downside is I cannot cancel anymore as they will have to order the glass and not returnable

thanks

Good for you. Make sure they order the other three OEM parts too.
Your insurance company can pay for the calibration of the camera, but the camera is stationary in the windshield so calibration just intalls verifying that the windshield and camera were installed properly. If your Lane Keeping System works the same as before installation of the new windshield, there's probably no need to check the calibration. I didn't and my LKA works fine. Good luck.

I'm a bit confused on that part number. The Toyota web site says that fits all trim levels of the RAV4, but I know that some trim levels have different windshields because of the different options. For example, those with the weather package have rain sensing wipers which has a different masking for that sensor (and moves the TSS camera to the side some too). while cars without the rain sensing wipers don't have that masking. Can anyone enlighten me?

what I did is contact my dealership parts department. They used my VIN# to look for the part number that fits my car

Which ended up being the same part number from my posting above. I'm just saying

From my own personal experience OEM does not mean that something is made by the original equipment manufacturer. Yes, that is what OEM stands for but it doesn’t mean that. A company like Safelight is using an aftermarket windshield supplier and pays nowhere near the costs of the price for a true Toyota windshield. So, how can they “lie” to everyone? They use a windshield that meets or exceeds OEM specifications, that is how. In todays world OEM is mostly meaningless, but such is life. Good luck on you windshield replacement.
