Hello folks! I just recently picked up my 2024 RAV4 Prime XSE and I have a question about what size of winter tires I should get. The car comes stock with 19” wheels, but to save money I was hoping to mount a set of 17” steel rims with good winter tires. The question I have is that Toyota quoted me a set of Goodyears that are 225-65R17. My stock tires are 235-55r19. The 17” tires are much smaller in diameter. I would think 235-65R17 is a better match. Is there any reason why Toyota wants me to mount a smaller tire? Generally I prefer a thinner taller profile for snow tires.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
