ok .then the only thing else I can suggest is you try a different version of techstream. Make sure you dont have all the keys in the car at once

where was your car MADE ? Canada or Japan

first letter of your VIN NUMBER

2 = Canada

J = JAPAN

Canada, and thanks. Called locksmith and it's $70 to program a blank chip to Toyota; and so instead i'm going to buy a $8 OEM Toyota H Blank key to break it open and take the Toyota ready H chip. Insanity, for sure, but problem solved.

Did the locksmith say that would work? Doesnt your new keys have the H chip already in it? Did you try with another version of techstream.

The Ebay seller below assures me that I'm on the right track, meaning that the blank H chip is the problem where the chip has to be pre-coded specifically for year/make/model and then registered into into the vehicle ECU. Pre-coded 2016 Rav4 LE H chip here is $12; or two for $18 (blanks are $1); and I'll let you guys know how this turns out:

Well, I tried to get the Ebay keyfob seller to make things right. He gave me the okay to return for full credit, 2 new aftermarket keyfobs for $40, but I'm going to try and find legit transponder chips first. I can program them into the car, myself, once that's resolved.

Something else might interest you guys is that I found LED headlight kit, fanless, both sides, for $17 with shipping. Super bright blue white, 10x better than the original incandescent bulbs: THESE ARE LED (DIODES), AND SO YOU HAVE TO PLUG THEM IN CORRECT POLARITY OR THEY WONT LIGHT UP (REVERSE THE PLUG IF THEY DON'T LIGHT UP): https://www.ebay.com/itm/122958342500

PS: Hoping this'll work on the Toyota H Key...

I"m going to try and repair the old keyfob. RF meter, it sends very faint weak signal or transmission. Capacitor maybe, but it's freaking microscopic. Here's some pics:

My 2016 is the FCCID: GQ4-52T. Dealer sells it for $190+programming; and Ebay OEM Toyota starting around $60. The Ebay China knockoffs are $20 or so, and the main thing there is to make sure the transponder is programmed and not a $1 blank transponder which is what happened to me. China knockoffs are really shoddy, not worth the effort. From there, it's fairly easy to program, by either you or a locksmith. Popalock wanted $75 each and Bulbs and Batteries charges $40 to cut and program. Key wont start the car at all until key's programmed transponder is registered into the car computer.

Yea, I ended up ordering correct transponder chips, not yet delivered. The China knockoff doesn't work so well for the double-press to unlock (needs 4 presses). Otherwise it's okay. The Ebay OEM refurbs are around $60, or so, and that seems to be the better way to go.

When you open the keyfob does it have the right 3 button module. I read on that page you listed someone had a problem because it had a 4 button module . they just didn't put the button on yhe remote.

Seller doesn't seem like the best one around.
