Is anyone else experiencing issues with the liftgate? I've taken my car into Toyota several times over the past year because the liftgate goes up but won't come down - it stalls and beeps. I was quoted $2700 to replace the struts and was told they only last 5 years. I'm shocked. The struts should last the life time of the car. I started having problems with only 45,000 miles on the car, if that. I see Toyota has had recalls for this same issue on other models but not RAV4. Any fixes out there?

This is a fairly common problem. If you search the site and you'll find many examples. Best option is to do a manual conversion like this guy.
