48812-78030 - 24mm (2018-2021 NX300) - We bought this one
Are you sure you didn't mean 48812-78020

A few people have reported that 78030 may be the wrong part number, I haven't been able to verify.

@2011BaseV6, I had referred someone from FB to check out post #79 for the NX compatible parts and he supposedly ordered the 78030 that @TEKSMRT was referring to, but got something different. I had intially compiled a list for the strut/strut mount part numbers for the 200t/300/300h using VINs checking through PartSouq, figured I can add in the FSB and RSB part numbers as well. Here is what I came up with, which seems to indicate the 48812-78030 is the RSB for 300h that looks different than the 200t/300 according to Car-Part. Can you check?

Uh oh, I have to go and edit that post. It seems I made an error with that.

Alright, some good news! I have compiled a list of all of the compatible factory sway bars our cars came with as well as the NX ones if you want to upscale the thickness of your front or rear sway bar. We recently got 3rd row springs and the 2018+ NX300 rear sway bar as it is 24mm and the largest rear sway bar available for us for the price. A lot cheaper than the 25mm solid version out there and my friend is on a budget. It came with new end links which he needs as well for his car! Should stiffen up the rear nicely and hopefully allow us to induce some oversteer like my Highlander.

The sway bar and bushing MFR region has no effect on fitment, it's just where the part itself is made (NA vs JPN). The NX bar I got fit our NA-made RAV with no issue,

REAR SWAY BUSHINGS:
48818-78010 - 20mm (2015-2017 NX300h)

Now I’m reading this a little more thoroughly, making a little more sense as I’m researching. Thank you!

My Rav is FWD/4WD.
Are all the part #s above interchangeable?
I don’t want to buy something from an AWD and it not be a direct fit. Sorry if this was already explained. Just figured to ask.

The FWD RAVs can use the AWD bars. They are identical on both cars as well as the rest of the suspension architecture.

Has anyone tried out OEM NX sway bars? Part number 48818-78030 indicates a 24mm bushing for the rear sway bar (presumably solid) on certain 2017+ models. That's getting close to the 25mm bar for a fraction of the price if us RAV owners can grab one used on eBay. That is what I was able to do when I put a 26mm (vs stock 23mm) 2nd gen Highlander front sway bar on my 1st gen for next to nothing.

Our V6 AWD measured 21mm in the rear and 25mm in the front, but I know even 3mm would be a nice improvement. This car understeers heavily compared to my Highlander where oversteer can be induced if you want. It does have larger sway bars (26mm solid front, 22.2mm solid rear w/ heavy-duty brackets) but I feel like the rear RAV4 shocks are extremely soft, which isn't going to help that understeer. 2020 NX300 F-Sport shock absorbers are going on soon so I'll report back on how that goes. The end goal however, is going to be us running Bilstein B6s on the car.

Yes, you’re probably experiencing excessive understeer because the front bar by itself is stiffening / taking away too much traction from the front. The bigger rear bar will make the car a lot more neutral and competent around corners. While keeping it flat overall.

I had the opposite effect on my Highlander as I did the rear bar first. The rear was way too tail-happy and was robbing the overall potential grip that it was truly capable of. This went away with a slightly larger front sway bar. I kept the overall bias more rearward to cut out the factory understeer that Toyota designed it to have. Ideally (in my case) the car should be pretty neutral with a small trace lift-off oversteer should you demand it. This was achieved on the Highlander with a 26mm front (stock was 23) and 22mm rear bar (stock was 16) (w/ custom stiffened brackets I made).

My friend’s V6 2011 RAV came with a 26mm front (stock) and a 22mm rear, but the 24mm NX300 bar made the car a lot more neutral, a bit less than the Highlander. These cars will have a larger rear sway bar than rear strut cars like the older Highlander as multi-link suspension setups usually have the bar mounted on the control arm rather than the more rigid strut, demanding the need for a larger bar to achieve the same affect.
I am thinking my fsb on my 2010 Rav v6 sport is around 26mm.. is there a point to upgrading the front bar to the NX 27mm? I want to do the rear and would like to do them as a set to keep everything neutral. But not sure if I’ll see any benefit…

I left my stock 25.4mm front and just did the 24mm rear and the car rotates nicely, nice neutral handling vs. stock which had a bit of understeer. I drove a Lexus 2021 NX300 F-Sport and the car had a noticeable amount of understeer which was major decision in me keeping the stock front bar. The NX non-hybrid front bar is only about 1mm thicker but perhaps it's made out of a stronger metal or perhaps it is solid vs. the RAV4 stock front bar. I'm not sure if the stock front RAV bar is hollow or solid though, but I'm guessing it is solid too like the rear.

How did you install a rear swaybar on your 3rd gen Rav? I have a 2009 sport(3.5l) I’ve lifted it and I get body roll so I want to stiffen the rear. I just see the links. Would I just throw the bar on along with the links or would I replace the bar with the links?

I have some pictures here when I updated to NX parts including the RSB. If you follow the Factory Service Manual (FSM), it does call out having to remove the coil springs. While your existing links may be fine, it always the nut/hex bolt combo that's a pain to remove on the OEM part, so you may want to plan for a spare set if those get stripped.

Ahh dang! I replaced the springs and shocks about 2 years ago! Im still on the original sway bar and I have some recently replaced links. That would be a lot of labor! Or labor cost for a mechanic. Could there be another way to reduce body roll with out this much work?

You'd probably lose some articulation in the back with the stiffer sway bar, so might hurt your off-roading a bit. IMO I don't think the 2mm increase of the rear sway bar alone will be enough to compensate for the added ride height resulting in more body roll
