Louis,

Do you know if that same kit would work with a 2022 Prime SE? I’m really hoping to add parking sensors to mine.

I’m a total newbie when it comes to modding cars so I could use some more direction on how to remove the bumpers and actually get the wiring to all the right places.

Any and all help appreciated.

Thanks!

I have a lunar rock 2022 LXE and would like to add the sensors as well but cant find in my color.
I was able to get a kit off of Ebay that matched pretty close.
The seller messaged me about year, features and color. I haven't installed it yet as I have another item I want to add when I drop the bumper covers.

It's not the exact same kit as Louis' but pretty close as far as features and install. I'll keep you updated when I get it installed.

Cheers

No updates as of yet, I am still waiting on some parts. I will be working on 4 different projects when I remove the bumper covers, I probably won't have an update on this till Christmas time.

Cheers

No sure on Prime models. Sorry

Hi Louis, How did you run the wires? do you need to cut the gromment so that the wire can go from hood to the glove box? Also, from back to the front, do you go from the headliner or from the bottom of the car? Thanks!
I'm not Louis but to answer your questions:
1). you don't have to cut the firewall grommet, you can push it through at an edge and then reposition it to get a better seal. Use a small piece of rubber edge trim or hose to keep the metal from cutting the wires.
2). I believe that these kits are run inside the vehicle along the door sills, I will be running mine this way with a cut in a blank grommet in the cargo area and re-sealed with silicone.

Cheers,

Did anyone actually finish adding the parking assist kits and are they fully functional ? Does the auto brakeing feature work and are there any glitches ? I see several posters showing kits that are available outside of the US but, I haven’t seen any finished projects showing the functioning of the system and it’s compatibility with the cambus of the rav4 system. This is a fairly big project that I would like to install on a 23 hybrid XLE premium and would like to see if anyone has a fully functioning system they have installed without problems before cutting holes in the bumpers and tearing the car apart. There is no economic way of turning back once the bumpers are cut other than leaving the sensors in place, if the add on sensor system doesn’t fully work like the factory installed system. Thanks for any updates .

I've had this project done for several months and the sensors are able to be turned on and off in the dash screen and show up in the radio screen. I'm not sure about the auto braking feature, I try not to make it a point to run into objects to "test" a feature. The one drawback with an aftermarket system is that there isn't a way to calibrate the system like the factory one. It is true that is an permanent install and can't be undone, so if you sell the car you have to sell the sensor package with it or explain the holes and caps. Over all I'm happy with the way that it turned out and functionality that it adds.

Cheers.

I appreciate your reply. I’m always nervous about tampering with electrical add on modifications especially on a new car still under warranty. With all the sensors and computer/module constant communication, there could be issues and warrany claim denial if there is a problem from the install. . Which kit did you use and how did you find it? I was going to go to a salvage yard and try to purchase the entire set up sensors ,harness ,modules , but most will not do any dismantling for wiring or small items. Besides if the vehicle is salvaged the sensors and wiring are probably damaged on the front or the back and the main harness may be completely different for a car which has the tech package added preventing total plug and play. Thanks again for your reply.
