Hi,

Does anybody have officially allowed/certified dimension 235/60R18 for 2019-2023 RAV4 AWD Hybrid?
I am looking for a copy of original documents from anywhere in the world, so I could get homologation/certification done easier here, in Europe.

Interesting...Europe allows 235/55-R19 tire, which is almost exact dimension, only difference is 18 vs 19-inch rims. So I see no reason why 18-inch equivalent could not be certified.

Any help appreciated. Thanx.

Both Tire Rack and Discount Tire web sites show the dimensions for the tires they sell. Don't know if your governmental agency will take those as "certified" or not.

Of interest, the actual dimensions for a given tire can vary slightly from other tires depending on the manufacturer.
Well, even those do not list 235/60-R18 as proper fit for 2020 RAV4 :-(

I know, this is just one perfect tire dimension....but unfortunatelly here in Europe insurance company will not pay for anything if somebody goes checking the tires - if tires are not certified in vehicle's homologation paper, technically vehicle is not registered, so insurance is not valid.
To be honest, if hail beats up your car, nobody will check tires, but if you are involved in some accident, it might be that some cop will check tires, and if wrong dimension, you would have to pay all damage on cars, people and surroundings. Which scares sjit out of me! That's why I want somehow to get them officially notd in homologation paper for the peace of mind.

What information can you get from your local Toyota dealer? Surely if they offer the tires for sale, that should satisfy the insurance companies.
Well, Toyota in our country certifies only 235/55-R19, but TOYO are not available in this dimension. Also, I have 18'' rims, and want 18'' for softer ride.

Are you stuck on TOYO tires for some reason? Are there no other brands you could accept?

Maybe ask the insurance company if they have some list of what they accept.
Well, I've tested some A/T tires in the past and those were among the best overall performers. Duratracs are too beefy for RAV4, BFG TA KO2 too slicky on wet and snow, Pirelly, Cooper and many others not near needed dimension, Wildpeaks AT3W are only available in AT3WA version in EU, which is totally different tire, many others are non-obtainable in Europe...and least and not last, I am a bit tired of trial and error. Too expensive.

But good point - I'll ask insurance company, it this dimension would be acceptable.

Will they accept different "trim" levels than yours? Do they understand Lexus NX is a lux model of Rav4? NX comes with 235/60/18.
Well, if we are talking about Toyota RAV4, where I have Hybrid AWD model with 222 HP, they will accept any trim model with same specs, but different equipment. They might also accept PHEV docs, but I would not bet on it.

Regarding Lexus...well, it might be it's same platform, but I doubt they will accept that explanation. The clerks need to cover themselves in case of anything wrong, so they will probably go only with obvious or near obvious.
