I'm still looking for a good shop manual either in print or something I can download. I'm not looking for a free manual or material but a reliable source. I know the "Toyota Information System" exists but it seems cumbersome to use and having the "rent" the site by the day is a hassle. I would love to just thumb through a service manual and learn about the systems in my car. I'm way past my prime for working on cars anymore but I would find the manual useful to learn how systems work and if there is a malfunction I can explain the issue better to the technician that will take on the repair.

I found this Cardiagn.com website and there is information there but there is something that just doesn't feel right about it as it's "totally free". Also one time I went to look up something and was totally locked out!! Anyone have any comments on this site? I would love some advice on this and again TIS is just not going to work for me in the way I would like to use it.

Thanks for your help.

Indeed I agree "Haynes/Chilton" are a waste of paper. Back in the day Mitchel Manual's were the best goto and very expensive. I have literally thousands of dollars worth of these book on my shelves but they got the job done. I had a Mercedes a while back and someone bootlegged the service manual from Mercedes and it was very good. Hard to get around in but all the info was there. Poking around in Cardiagn there was a lot of information there and possible factory stuff. To download the TIS Manual is beyond me and I'm just looking for a place to buy it. I'd buy the entire book for my 2013 XLE from Toyota if it was available. Crazy they don't make it available like that. But they are certainly trying to protect their dealer network. But hopefully someday this information will become available.

So I gather you have never looked at the Cardiagn system? That was my question what others thought of this information service.

Well then, there is certainly no doubt you love your TIS system and enjoy paying for the info on a piece meal basis as you need it. For me I've been in the business for 40+ years and print material I have used all my life including torq specs and have never had a failure do "wild guess" information from quality printed manuals.

So my question is still out there...................... Has anyone used the Cardiagn "on-line" wild guess system? Looking for other's experiences. Mr. Crisps experiences are duly noted.......................;)

I used cardiag.com several times in the past and the manuels were great. Since it's been a couple years now i'm not sure about the site. The site usc to take a long time to open the pdf to view the files then would give the option to download. Now when you click your vehicle it offers a zip folder with all of the repair manuels for your selected vehicle and offers to redirect you to Mega.nz to view and download the zip folder. Before it allowed a user to pic which manuels to download. Electrical chassis, engine, transmission etc. The redirect concerns me, but since a user would be download all the repair manuels it kinda maked since. Another concern is that the zip file for my 2004 Yukon is 948.14MB I'm not sure but that seems like a lot for documents unless the manuels now have color picture and videos. Please let me know if that is a lot of data? I have not downloaded the zip folder as i am researching my concerns. If anyone else has downloaded these manuels from the Mega.nz let me know your exsperience. Thank you
