Well, at least, as you say; "direct you to the system/circuit with the fault". It's a lot cheaper then a (not you of course) mechanics that will try to take you for a ride. At least it can help you narrowing it down or at least have an idea. Many mechanics, when they scene ignorance, they scene money. I've read many members who have had this problem. Spending more then they have to. Slight knowledge of the area or part can help. This happen a lot with senior citizens.
