Oil filter wrench

My wife took our 2018 Rav4 le 2wd in for a oil change and the oil change place could not change the new type of crappy oil filter because they did not have a special oil filter wrench. This is our second oil change with this car. The first one at another place had no problem with the oil change. I checked the TOYOTA website and found nothing. I went to local auto parts stores and found nothing. Where do I get a oil filter wrench at and how much do they cost?
Thank you very much for any help anyone can get us.

With a large lair of slip joint/ChanNel-Lock/water pump pliers and a flat screwdriver, anyone can get the filter cap off of a 2AR-FE. This engine first appeared in 2009 models. I do my own changes and I don’t own the filter tool linked above. No issues. The shop the OP went to wasn’t thinking very hard. And given the millions (I’m not kidding) of Toyotas in North America with this filter, they are losing out on business if they don’t want to do the work.

Lots of Toyota oil filter wrench on Ebay. As long as it is 64mm most should work. I also suggest getting a torque wrench so the oil filter housing is torqued properly. If the oil filter housing is too tight it can be difficult to remove which may result in damage such as cracking. A crack oil filter housing can leak. The plastic oil filter housing can be easily damaged unlike the aluminum one.

Depends on the shop some mechanics need to buy their own tools and if that person is starting he may have the bare minimum tool set. That means he may not have the Toyota oil filter wrench but some try to mangle the oil filter housing with the wrong tool as a desperation move. At the end you get p**s off and swear you will never allow another person to touch your car again or go to Toyota and pay an arm and leg thinking they know what they are doing.
