I have seen a couple of Rav 4's around here lately that looks like the 2013 body style but has the handle to swing open the main back door. No spare mounted on the door also. I thought the 2013 was the first year that the spare was moved from the back door to the inside. What year models did they move the spare?

If I'm not mistaken 2013 is when they moved the spare tire on all models. I have seen 11 & 12 sport models with no spare.

All 2013 MY RAV4s have the spare (compact) in the trunk floor compartment. Australian models comes with full-size spare which requires a different trunk floor cover.
Previous generations of RAV4 had a full size spare mounted on the rear hatch. The only exception was Gen.3 (2006-2012) "Sport" model which had run-flat tires and hence no spare tire at all. Gen.3 "Sport" model looks just like other Gen.3 RAV4s, with swing door, but no spare tire on it.

That model of the RAV4 has the SAP option, using runflat tires and no spare tire at all. I believe it was produced in 2010 in Japan.
