@Tazio Nuvolari , do you know if the code P26CB is the coolant bypass valve you mention? My 2019 RAV4 just threw that code 2 days ago and I’m trying to figure out what part I need to replace this weekend.
PC26CB usually means the electric water pump has failed. The coolant bypass valve is a different code. Keep a close eye on your coolant reservoir--it may drop or go empty. Watch your engine temperature gauge like a hawk...you NEVER want to overheat our engines. There is an outside chance the pump is OK but there is a fault in the ECM programming, but I wouldn't bet on that. It's the water pump that crapped out---how many miles on your RAV? Here's a good video on diagnosing and replacing the pump...it's the same on a 8th gen Camry and 5th gen RAV4. Here's the TSB on that ECM programming fault.

Thanks for all that info!!

I’ll definitely check out the video.
it’s got 97k miles. I did see the tsb and unfortunately that and a couple others the previous owner let lapse without addressing: side mirror rattle/shake, transmission hesitation 🙄.

2024 Rav 4 XLE here. regular services completed, last one done before issue at 37,700Km (23,425miles) Engine overheating warning at 43,000km, coolant reservoir completely empty, no sign of leak on parking ground. Water pump leaking, must have been slow. No other symptoms, except the odd fan noise. Refilled coolant reservoir, didnt appear to leak. While servixe to complete replacement, mechanic found hairline cracks in engine. At least it's all covered under warranty.
