2010 RAV4 4WD le model. When AC button pushed, light on button lights up, but did not feel compressor starting, air is not cool. No MG CLT relay in the fuse box at driver side under hood. HTR fuse and other fuses good. Any idea what is the problem?
JohnusI52, we've been driving our 2010 Rav4 with no A/C for almost two years because I refused to pay the high cost for a shop repair. Last night after reading this I finally decided that I'd had enough so I put two magnets (approximately the diameter of a nickel) directly over the control valve (flow sensor) on the compressor, cleaned the surrounding surface and put a piece of duct tape over the magnets to make sure they stay put. I was skeptical at first, but when I got in and pushed the AC button and the vents started blowing cold air I thought to myself, If I had known about this two years ago it could have saved me a lot of grief!!
Thanks for sharing this.![]()
Someone tried putting the magnet on the flow sensor and the AC worked. If it works then change the flow sensor.I have 2010 RAV4 (4cyl) with no A/C as well. AC worked last year, if I remember correctly.
AC light comes on and stays on.
I thought it was Low on R134, like many other cars I've had before... so I went and bought a AC refill kit from Walmart.
I connected the little dial on the low side, and I was reading like 130 Psi... It wasn't low on AC gas. Something else was wrong.
So I took it to a local mechanic, and you wouldn't believe what he told me. He said "somebody took out the AC clutch and put a nut in there!!! It's engaged all the time"
It sounded absurd.... Then how come was it working alright last year? I paid him $20 for the diagnostics and got the hell out of there. (forgot to ask him to connect the DTC computer)
Can this be true? Is the AC compressor in our RAV4 has no AC clutch, or it looks totally different than other typical AC clutch?
Should I try the magnet trick? I guess I've got nothing to lose to try that....
Thank you.
If you have Techstream you can check the flow sensor voltage.I have 2010 RAV4 (4cyl) with no A/C as well. AC worked last year, if I remember correctly.

The 4 cylinder Rav4 has clutchless variable compressor while the 6 cylinder has a clutch compressor.I have 2010 RAV4 (4cyl) with no A/C as well. AC worked last year, if I remember correctly.

This Worked! The 4 cylinder Rav4 has clutchless variable compressor while the 6 cylinder has a clutch compressor.
Worth a try by putting a magnet on the flow sensor to fix this signal issue. It worked for me and many others.
Only took me 15 minutes and saved me alot of time and $$$.
I just tried this magnet fix on my daughters 2011 Rav4 I4 4wd and it worked! Idk how long it'll last or if the magnet will stay put, but it cost nothing, got the powerful magnet out of a flashlite and broke it into apiece to fit pretty good.. On the low pressure port, the gauge was always in the red so it was too high, when I put the magnet on, with the gauge still attached, the pressure dropped into the good range as soon as I started the car up.. You could hear the compressor kicking in & out.. Meanwhile, I ordered a new Flow Sensor from Parts Geek P/N 926-818 for about $28 +~$10shipping for whenevs I feel like taking the front end apart enough to get at it.. Good Luck Everyone..My AC was not working and blowing outside air and I was able to fix my AC 2011 Rav4 LE v4 by using a piece of magnet and saved over $2000. The problem was a faulty AC flow sensor on the compressor and by adding the magnet it amplify the weak signal for the computer system to work correctly. I followed procedures provided on this link below:
I put magnetic on, it turned on the fan and AC, I had to also add some refrigerant since it was low. The AC is now working great and cold.

I am assuming you need the part number/place to purchase the condenser? Here's a link to a site that sells them:I have a 2010 Toyota rav 4 limited edition. I need to order an AC condenser and I have no idea which position I need to order. Do you have any idea which position my 2010 Toyota rav 4 originally came with?
Your compressor has a hole or us damaged. Probably hit by a rock. Need to fill with coolant and dye and see where it leaks. Gonna be a 1000 kick in the balls2010 RAV4 4WD le model.
