And I do remember cars & trucks flying by me in SD on my way to/from Sturgis but many other trucks with trailers and I stick to 70 mph otherwise fuel mileage goes waaay down.
The last time I went through Sturgis I was driving a customized raised roof 4x4 454 GMC Suburban towing an auto trailer, loaded, and the wind was terrific, the bikers leaned far over to cope. Drove by them with impunity. But carefully. The gas bill was enormous!

To put it in historical perspective, I rode MC for over thirty years and last visit to Sturgis on bike was 1981 on they guy below, and doing way conservative speed. :)

it's unsafe to drive that fast if your surrounding traffic is going 60...

of course ..in Germany you should be fine...but in North America..unless your on rural..
it's not safe
Driving in the Western US states requires 75MPH + on many of the interstates.....at least I think so. Example: driving from Colorado to California.

Thanks for all the feedback. Just you know where I'm coming from, I drive a Lexus GX460 now....I don't expect the same comfort level from the RAV4 at 80-85MPH.
I'm looking at the RAV4 for 95% of my driving needs (around town, to/from the airport, etc.), but still want a vehicle that I can occasionally take a road trip in, without too much discomfort.
I hate to say it but...

...for the type of driving you want to do, a 2018 Chevy Equinox with the 2.0 turbo in Premier FWD or AWD guise would be sweet.

Compact, yet robust, 2.0 Liter turbocharged 252 HP, 260 lb/ft of torque, plus it has KILLER tech (4 usb data ports, 2 usb charging ports, 3 12v outlets, 1 110v outlet, 4G LTE WiFi turns your entire car into a smartphone hot spot, plus Android Auto / Apple CarPlay. There's also the hands-free rear liftgate and the "Sun, Sound & Navigation" package but all that comes at a significant upcharge AND, does NOT have Adaptive Cruise Control as does the RAV4.

...Naaah...wait...

The RAV4 can do a lot of that and cost thousands less, comes standard with a sunroof in any trim level, plus gets better fuel economy (at least the hybrid will). There's not much change from the outgoing 2017 to the incoming 2018 RAV4 (except for the "Adventure" model) then there's always the upcoming 2019 RAV4 which should be completely redesigned and will hopefully feature all the tech and improved fuel economy - even in hybrid guise.

I would not want a blown tire or try to avoid some road debris at those speed. Especially after dark. 65MPH is about the fastest I go in the RAV4. But I took college level physics courses. Maybe that's why. :D

Since you have a Lexus as your main vehicle now , and most Lexus owners enjoy the quiet and dependability of this line of automobiles , I would suggest another Lexus. The NX300H is the same size outside as the Rav4 , and in hybrid form it is powered the same as the Rav4 hybrid. The build quality and the quietness is better in the Lexus , but the overall interior room is smaller than the Rav4. I looked at the NX before buying my Rav4 hybrid , but for me the Rav was a better choice. Good Luck in your choice.
