Overriding the automatic engine shut off?

I need to be able to leave the engine running with a/c on and lock the car with the key manually. My Prius let me do that, but the RAV4 automatically shuts the engine off after 20(?) minutes. Is there a way to override this?

My wife will sometimes inadvertently leave the engine running on our 2020 RAV4 when she exits the car. She keeps the fob in her purse, so starting the car isn't an issue for her, but it stays with her in her purse when she gets out. Instead of rummaging in the purse for the fob, she'll lock the car by pressing the interior lock button, close the door, and walk away. If I understand this thread correctly, it seems that this action will disable the auto shutoff feature, right? If so, this doesn't help me. I'd rather the auto shutoff feature always be operable. Is there a way to do this? By the way, will locking the car with the exterior button on top of the door handle leave the feature enabled, or will it, too, disable the auto shutoff? Thanks. Rich

You should be fine because she is locking the car with the driver’s door open, which re-enables the auto shutoff. If she were to push the interior door lock button from the inside and then crawl out the window without opening the door, the auto shutoff would be disabled and the car would stay on until you shut it off. It is unclear to me if exiting from the passenger door has the same result (the manual only mentions the driver’s door).
The auto shutoff will also remain on if you lock it using the exterior button on the handle (but if you have this feature, why doesn’t she use this instead of locking with the interior buttons and then getting out anyway?).
Also, if you shut any door with the key fob outside the vehicle when it is still on, the car will loudly beep 8 times at you (at least that is the case for my 2020 XSE). So that’s a fairly hard to miss clue that you’ve left the vehicle on.
