Thanks for the details! Appreciate knowing your setup is rub-free. Yea I was definetly wondering about going with the BR Boxer 16x7 +15 too. One thing I like about them is that the 16's have a less flat face to them, mostly because of the offset. Looks cooler IMO. Aswell as the pushed-out wheels look, overall nice and aggressive. I wondering if this slightly wider stance changes the driving experience much?

Im gonna do 5 wheels total, rotated.

If I went with the 16's, the 235/70/16 would be great, but going 245/70/16 would add another 1/2 inch in diameter, so 1/4 inch of sidewall for more ground clearance and more rubber. This would bring it up to the same tire width and diameter that a lot of guys run with their 245/65/17 tires. If I could get a clear answer to whether this would rub at all, even on compression i'd go with the 245/70/16. But again with your setup your Speedo and odo are gonna be more accurate, and probably less sluggish than the larger size? Also your size is lighter, less unsprung weight

Thanks again
There's a discussion about fitting a full size spare in the tire wheel in the back. Pretty sure 225 is as wide as you can go. Just an FYI

GF wanted black wheels but wasn't in our budget after purchasing this RAV4 last week, so I got her black wheel skins for her 2020 XLE 17" wheels (ebay seller hubcapzone, $120), they look amazing!
She can't tell the difference between an LE with steel rims and hubcaps and an XLE with alloy wheels so to her this is awesome!

Ordered the konig hypergram 17x8 and Nitto terra grappler g2s in 245/65/17. The konigs seem to be back ordered at least a month everywhere. Going on 2021 hybrid. Will post a picture when installed! Wheel are 18lbs (7lbs lighter), and tires are 37lbs (I think 12 lbs heavier). Discount tire rep on here price matched the wheels and set up the order for me.

Can you update us after you get them installed? I am thinking of going with the same wheels, but in bronze. I’m curious about road noise and any mpg difference?

I cannot thank you enough Patruck!!! I copied your build and I could NOT be happier!!

My next goal is a roof rack, did you do a Prinsu?

Do you know if having this +15 offset vs stock +35 offset will make a big difference with wear and tear long term? I'm so close to pulling the trigger on these haha. I just thought of this, as the suspension angle (scrub radius) will be slightly different?

19’ Hybrid XLE

Brand: Black Rhino
Model: Boxer
Size: 16x7
Offset: 15
Tire: Falken Wildpeak At3w 235/70/16
MPG: Seem to have lost 1-1.5mpg...not bad!
Ride: No more road noise than the OEMs, not as squishy of a ride, but still very comfortable. Does not feel sluggish with weight increase.

OEM 17” with firestone destination: 48.6lbs

New wheels: 56.8lbs

I'm just surprised at the fuel milage people are reporting. I didn't go very aggressive at all and we see 35 mpg with our 2021 hybrid. with 1,700 miles on it. Do we really just drive that hard?
There are many variables...temperature, wind, terrain elevation, cargo, speed, driving style...the list can go on.

Also add: change in odometer reading due to larger tires leads to false mpg reports .

I went with Black Rhino Boxers in a 16x7 ET15.
Wrapped with a toyo open country AT3 in 235/70/16.
Absolutely no rub and I have no lift.
Guys have ran the same offset with 245/70/16 and not rubbed, but I can't speak to whether that rubs when articulated.
I went with 235/70/16 to be on the safe side for those weekends and have yet to run into any problems. (Also cheaper)
Also the 16s will give the car a slightly wider stance, as its 25mm further out if you go with the 245. (20mm further out if you go with 235)

I also got hub rings, and those are placed in the rim's hub to fill the gap between the rim hub and the wheel hub.
There's no modifications needed, just press them into the rim's hub. They help with vibrations.
Lots of info if you look back through all the pages.

One other question I have is over time, will the low offset of +15, cause significant premature wear and tear or other problems because of the +18 in scrub radius? Basically because it sticks out quite a bit more than stock, changing the suspension geometry?

First time buying aftermarket wheels/tires and being an idiot I ordered 225/65/17 instead of 245 because they weren’t in stock on the tires I wanted. Hugely regret it but oh well I’ll get better MPG. Will just wait for these to wear out then I’ll get a lift kit lol. Also got black rhino overland wheels which look amazing.

Love the comfort. I don’t know if it’s just a placebo but my lady and kid has been falling asleep a lot easier. The usual bumpy highway we take home has been noticeably smoother.

what kind of kmcs did you go with?
Ended up going with the KMC Nomad's...heading in now to get them put on! Photos to follow! Cheers! Love hearing its riding smooth :)

A 4 wheel alignment to ensure the tires wear evenly is the way to go. However, it's only an inch further out moving from stock to +15 with the slightest upsizing. If you're stock tires are still in alignment, there's no reason to get an alignment in my personal opinion other than to err on the side of caution as tires aren't cheap
