6 years/100K is $1450 at full list. Jerry is $689 and she said that was only $100 over dealer cost. So that must mean that the dealer cost is $589.

So, at full list they are marking it up almost $900, and about 246%!
It was $512 with a $500 rebate for mine, so it cost me a total of $12.

Jerry Johnson in Hutchnson KS is the real deal. Great guy- no BS or slaes tactics- honest as they come. Gave us a great deal on our RAV warranty (8 yr/100000K plan for $944)- our local dealer (Stevenson Toyota in Lakewood CO) tried to charge $2500 for a similar plan with less coverage and used extremely high pressure tactics in doing so. What a pleasure it was dealing with Jerry- I took a couple months after initial contact to commit to it and Jerry took a ton of time explaining it in deail to me. No pressure at all. I just can't say enough about how Jerry treats his customers- he is the real deal!

I wish I would have seen this yesterday! :wall I'm going to cancel my extended warranty & call Jerry. Can you tell me is the warranty 5 years ( or what I choose) from my purchase date? Just bought a 2010 pacific blue Rav4 and love it!
Also, what company is Jerry's warranty thru?
Thanks in advance!

It is effective from date of in-service...... You can get the warranty if it has less than 36K miles or under 36-months from in-service date....... Jerry is at midwest toyota in Kansas.

Not the Toyota warranty; you can still buy an aftermarket warranty; coverage usually has many exclusions e.g. excessive oil consumption might not be covered. You really have to read all the details of such warranties,

Can I get the Warranty thru Jerry?
You can ask him - contact info (also in the first post on this thread):

But reading the Extended Warranty for Used Vehicles from the Toyota website it appears that the used vehicle extended warranty has to be purchased at the time the vehicle is purchased. If you want to check it out this link to the very difficult to navigate to Toyota warranty website hopefully will help:

What if it has 43,000 miles? Can I still get the warranty?
Can I get the Warranty thru Jerry?
Short answer: No.

Jerry sells the genuine Toyota Platinum extended warranty. This is only available while your vehicle is still under the factory bumper-to-bumper warranty (3 years/36,000 miles from original in-service date). Your vehicle is past that. Sorry.

I am the type who almost never buys an extended warranty. I figure someone is making money on these warranties, probably the seller, not the buyers. Still, my 2011 RAV4 has been trouble-free EXCEPT for the 6-CD changer and satellite/FM/AM radio which is now about to be replaced for the second time in 3 years (under warranty). The symptoms were intermittent, gibberish characters appearing on the radio screen and/or shutting down suddenly. The car is about to reach the end of the 3-yr manufacturer warranty, so I figure another radio failure (or two) would cover the $659 8 year 75,000 miles Toyota Factory Extra Care platinum Zero Deductible Warranty I purchased from Jerry Johnson at Midwest Toyota. He's very responsive, called me on my cell right after I left a message, and he's unfailingly polite and patient, took a credit card on the phone and immediately sent a receipt, with the paper certificate arriving a few days later in the mail. Although it annoyed me to have to buy this product for a Toyota no less, I feel like with this majorly discounted price from Mr. Johnson, it makes the pain minimal.

I plan to keep my current V6 RAV until I'm too old drive or until it falls apart. Until now I've never bought an extended vehicle warranty/service plan, mostly because they have been too expensive at dealers' usual gouge-'em prices. But Jerry Johnson at Midwest Toyota sells them basically at half price, genuine Toyota warranties, and with the complexity of today's vehicles I decided to take the plunge. Contacted Jerry by phone (800 number) to get the 8-year, 75,000 mile Toyota Platinum for my '11 RAV for $659. The only caveat I learned is regarding the towing provision - Jerry said that the person whose vehicle is towed has to pay the towing charges upfront themselves and that Toyota then will reimburse the cost. (Reading through the warranty provisions on the Toyota website the customer also must pay for alternative transportation, lodging, meals, etc. charges upfront as well and Toyota will reimburse those as well.) He is very pleasant to deal with, unlike many sales people he didn't try to make a sales pitch for a more expensive warranty or for anything else. He is very thorough and explained the entire process regarding the warranty and what I would receive, from whom, and when, with some great Kansas Midwest humor thrown in. Very highly recommended.

Edit: I had two separate post-purchase questions, emailed Jerry since I didn't know his schedule, and he phoned me on both occasions with the answers just after he had come into the office.

I've been following this thread (I posted #81 & #99) with the hope that someone in Canada would do what Jerry's doing. Any good news on this? Also, has anyone in Canada tried to get their dealer to match his prices?

Sorry Eric, that was all I could find on this forum. I wonder whether there is some sort of Toyota Canada or other regulation or law in Canada which forbids the sort of price slashing which Jerry and some others in the U.S. employ.

will I be able to get extended warranty for mines? 09 with 31k miles.
It depends on the in service date. That's the date it was sold and driven off the lot. If the in-service date is before December 19, 2010 then the time period for an extended warranty would have expired.

I picked it up used. extended warranty is probably for first owners?
No, not at all, you could be the second or third owner. As long as the vehicle mileage is less than 36,000, and the "in service" date is less than 3 years, you can get the warranty. Once the factory warranty expires, you are out of luck.
